The CARE program aims to increase the number of Native American and underrepresented students (low income, disabled, etc…) in science, technology, engineering, math, and medical (STEMM) fields by engaging high school students at an earlier age (15+ years) through culturally relevant training in chemistry, biology, and healthcare fields. Collaborative ¡MIRA! team, including student researchers, working on nanotechnology to streamline vaccine delivery

An interdisciplinary research team at Northern Arizona University is working with partners throughout the country to revamp how vaccinations are delivered—a timely project that, once successful, could be applied to the coming COVID-19 vaccine and inoculations against new organisms that humanity may face in the future. Ryan Behunin published in ‘Nature Communications.

¡MIRA! faculty Ryan Behunin co-authored the article, “422 Million intrinsic quality factor planar integrated all-waveguide resonator with sub-MHz linewidth” published in Nature Communications. The study investigates high quality-factor (Q) optical resonators and their integration in a photonic waveguide platform with the goal of enhancing waveguide resonator technology.
